I shaved my head and stopped shaving my body, but I’m nearly70 so I’m well past anyone’s expectations of “sexiness”. I’ve always been fiercely independent but this is the most freedom I’ve experienced in my body. I am also hairy, although I was surprised to see how much body hair I lost after menopause. Now I have patterned baldness in the pubic area (bald in the middle) and what is left is two long swipes of fur on my inner thighs. I don’t wear bathing suits or shorts anyway so nobody has to be horrified. I do pluck the chin/mustache hair, but probably not often enough. Age is a beautiful thing: you do get to the point where you just don’t give a flying fuck what other peoples opinions are about you.

Yasss kweeeen💖 thank you for sharing your story and thank you for remaining true to yourself. That takes COURAGE. What a beautiful trait to have. I agree with you and have the same frustrations and confusion about societies standards for women. Once I deconstructed the patriarchy is when I became ANGRY and started asking similar questions as you. I had to ask myself “hey why did we start shaving our entire body, legs, arms, underarms, yoni at 13 YEARS OLD.” It made me so angry and sad. I stopped shaving afterwards. Growing out my bush has been the most rewarding experience lol truly. Every time I look down it is a reminder of self love, and radical acceptance🌹 My fiance LOVES it. We live in a very sick society and porn is a huge poison. Did goddesses like Aphrodite, Persephone, Medusa worry about their natural growing body hair or conditioned men and women’s opinions..?? HELL NAW. Keep being a goddess, we need more women like you waking up and speaking up🦋 oh and I love your poem at the end!!
