Happy Mother's Day
Coming back to Substack with an apt announcement on this Mother's Day 🌸
As I sit down at my desk and start typing, my heart’s pounding. My fingers feel a bit shaky.
It’s my first time writing this newsletter since January 1st — and I’m nervous. Honestly, it feels like the very first time ever. But after all this time, I think I’m ready to show up again. To bare my soul a little.
And you’ve always been lovely to me here, after all. 💛
So let me start simple and say:
Happy Mother’s Day!
Whether you're celebrating yourself, your mom, or both, I hope there’s a moment of sweetness today. Even if it's just a breath. A loving word. A quiet honoring of the ones who literally give us life. 🌸✨
Now, I have something exciting to share — even if it’s a little premature.
It's still just a seed of an idea.
But a friend and I are dreaming up a Support Group for Mamas (and eventually, Papas) right here in Linz. Maybe it grows beyond that, who knows. For now, we're just in the early dreaming-and-talking phase. But... I. AM. EXCITED. 🥳
Why a support group for parents in Linz?
Because we’re craving community. Maybe it already exists and we just haven’t found it. But we keep coming back to the same thought:
Parents need each other.
A year ago, I had the idea for an “Honest Moms Circle” — a space for connection, truth-telling, and making mom friends. It never happened (probably because being a new mom is an all-consuming experience). But the desire never left.
And now, almost two years postpartum, it’s clearer to me than ever:
We need support.
We need space to breathe.
We need people who get it.
We need friends who will come over and help clean the house just by being there with moral support (and maybe snacks). Friends who will sit in the mess with us and laugh and cry. Friends to organize playdates with. Shoulders to lean on. People we can be real with — and who can be real with us.
We need more than just our own four walls.
We need community.
We need a chosen family.
So… what are we envisioning?
This is still unfolding, but here’s what I imagine so far:
A Support Group for Moms & Dads in Linz — a warm, honest community of friends and fellow parents
An online space — maybe right here on Substack — with stories, resources, and reminders to care for yourself
In-person support — honest circles, workshops, trainings, playdates, and social events
And whatever else we dream up — together
For me personally, I hope this becomes something that’s both nourishing and meaningful. A community and a calling. A place to belong while we create something that matters.
Does this resonate with you?
If something in you lights up reading this — even a little — I’d love to hear from you. Just hit reply and I’ll make sure you’re added to the early interest list.
I would love to co-create this space with you.
That’s all for now. Let’s see what will become ✨
Talk soon?
